Summer seminar “Youth Catalyst: Connecting and Amplifying Young Voices of Central Europe” of the Marthos Civic Association and the National Youth Council of Hungary in Martos /Martovce, Slovakia

5th – 9th of July 2023

Marthos Civic Association (Martovce, Slovakia) in cooperation with the National Youth Council of Hungary (Budapest, Hungary), within the framework of ERASMUS+ opens the application process for the summer seminar titled “Youth Catalyst: Connecting and Amplifying Young Voices of Central Europe”.

Aim of the project:
Fostering dialogue between youth organizations to support inclusive democratic participation and youth involvement in Europe with a particular emphasis on discussing and defining traditional values of the old continent that currently receive less attention. Such as “Family and small communities”, “A fundamental right: the right to national identity” and “Regionalism vs. globalism”.

Accommodation and meals are provided for all participants during the seminar.

Presentations and workshops:
The topics will be explored in English through interactive presentations by MEPs from several Central European countries (expected to be Andrea Bocskor, Andor Deli, Lóránt Vincze) and with the support of a professional facilitator responsible for provoking learning by facilitating a conversation among participants during the workshops, not to mention other tools of non-formal education.

Who can apply:
Active members of youth organizations or civic associations that are between 18 and 35 years of age from Central Europe (Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine) eager to discuss and define traditional values of Europe that currently receive little attention.

Arrival & Departure
Arrival Day: 5th of July 2023 (if possible, sooner than 6 pm)
Departure Day: 9th of July 2023 (after breakfast)

Finances

Travel expenses
About 70% of travel expenses can be reimbursed for all participants, but up to a maximum amount. This involves a signed “expense claim”. Only if original tickets will be presented and sent to the Marthos Civic Association office and participants provide all needed justificatory documents of travel and expenses (invoices, boarding passes, train or bus tickets…) the reimbursement will be possible.

Accommodation:
Accommodation will be provided by the organizers. Participants will be accommodated in double studio rooms in Naszvad (SK), 7 km from the training venue, in a peaceful setting near the thermal baths of Naszvad.
Food and beverages:
Three meals a day, coffee, mineral water and snacks will be provided by the organizers.

Leisure activities:
It is also important to get to know each other and enjoy leisure activities such as an excursion day or the Cultural Exchange Party, where every participant is invited to present their own organization. Among other activities, we would also like the participants to explore the surroundings of Martos, try out the facilities offered by the Martos Event Grove (archery, boating), get to know the sights and history of Komárno (SK) and visit the thermal baths of Naszvad.
In parallel with the seminar, the MartFeszt festival and open-air event will also take place, participants will be provided with tickets to enjoy performances and concerts of the region’s popular music and folk artists, taste local flavours and experience the hospitality of the Felvidék.
